What is Exposed Aggregate Concrete?

Exposed Aggregate Concrete is a decorative concrete finish where the top layer of cement is removed to reveal the natural stone, gravel, or sand embedded in the mix. Also known as washed aggregate concrete or decorative exposed concrete, this technique enhances texture, durability, and slip resistance. It is commonly used for sidewalks, driveways, patios, and building facades, offering a visually rich, natural look that blends well with modern and traditional architecture. The finish can be achieved by spraying, brushing, or chemical treatments to expose the aggregates, creating a unique and durable surface that is weather-resistant and low-maintenance.
